What is Journey Into the Deep?
Journey into the Deep is a discipleship adventure outfit.
What we do isn’t complicated…we seek out what the Lord is doing and take people along for the ride.
Whatever we do, discipleship will be at its core.
It could be designing a community garden to bless the people of a region or facilitating a short-term mission trip. It could be doing a 40-day discipleship pilgrimage or hitchhiking thru countries sharing the gospel and healing the sick as we go. These are all things that we’ve already seen happen.
He’s invited us to raise up discipleship outposts all over the earth…
These outposts will be training centers where people can come to know the heart of the Father and have their own hearts healed in the process…
They are for the outcast, the misunderstood, or those who want to embrace the authentic…
They are for those who want to go deeper places in themselves as well as the Spirit…
These are places where people can come to be trained up and learn to operate in their giftings and callings…
These outposts are places where you can learn to walk in the supernatural…
And, most importantly, these outposts will be used to send those people and all that they’ve experienced and learned to the ends of the earth…
To me, discipleship is knowing the Lord. Loving Him. Knowing and loving who you are and who He’s made you to be. Living in an intimate relationship with Him. And walking that relationship out to bless others…
So let’s do that together. And have some adventures.
Shoot, anything done in the Spirit will absolutely be an adventure…

Wow…what a long strange trip it’s been…
This finds us in the Great North…the upper peninsula of Michigan. A place that I never imagined being. Growing up downstate, Michigan was a place I was quite determined to never live in again. Sooo…here we are.
The Word says that in a man’s heart he plans his ways, but the Lord directs His steps. Prov. 16:9
I just never imagined being directed to take these steps…
The Lord planted the seed in my heart a few years back when a group of 20 came down from Water’s Edge Church in Marquette MI to be a part of what the Lord was doing in Puerto Rico. I found myself surrounded by a strong and resilient group that loved the Lord, loved each other, knew how to have fun and, despite many being out of their ‘element’, never complained. It was quite remarkable to witness and be joined with. Fast forward a year or so and when the Lord told me that my time living in Puerto Rico was over, I came back to the states not knowing where I was going. I ended up at that same church with those same people.
Why Michigan’s upper peninsula, you may ask?
Lord knows I did. I believe the Lord revealed to me a portion of what was in His heart for this region a short time later. As I was going on a camping trip with some guys from the church, I was talking with my pastor friend on the journey up. He said, “you know, Jonathan, the special forces actually does quite a bit of recruiting up in these parts. First off, everyone can shoot. And, more importantly, overcoming adversity is just a way of life”.
At that moment I heard the Father say that’s what was in His heart. He wants to raise up a special forces type people in the spiritual realm. A pioneering people who won’t give up. A people who will go another mile on the journey when others stop. A people who are willing to face adversities and go even to the ends of the earth if the Lord directs to do so. Not everyone will be from here, but this is where we will launch out of.

•Venture with us on a customized 3-7 day wilderness discipleship trip created just for you in proximity to where you’re located
•Join us on a short term mission trip to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. We’ll focus on outreach, discipleship and meeting local needs whether thru construction/disaster relief or food distribution.
These trips can also be customized for your church or group as well.

Please understand, these trips are not for the faint of heart. Your comfort, ideologies and agendas are far from our primary concern. They’re not even our secondary concern. Doing what pleases Him is. We’re not trying to do our own thing and ask Him to bless it. We’re seeking to find what He’s already blessing and press in to be a part of that.
The Father usually does a work in us before He does a true work thru us. This can be uncomfortable. This can be extremely challenging. But man alive is it amazing as He completes it.
We want to see discipleship outposts all over this earth…
